Every Morning, New

Fifteen years ago, I was a different person.
Not better or worse — just earlier. Still becoming.
I've been through things that could have broken me. Divorce. Loss. School that stretched me past what I thought I could hold. Friends who drifted when life got heavy. The death of my parents — the kind of grief that quietly reorganizes everything inside you.
At the time, it felt like life was happening to me.
But when I look back now — really look — I see something different. It was all working for me. Every hard season was quietly building something. Resilience I didn't know I needed. Clarity I couldn't have found any other way. A standard for my own life that I never would have raised if comfort hadn't been taken from me first.
The biggest gain wasn't success or stability.
It was peace. Self-acceptance. The ability to wake up each morning and feel at home in who I am.
Growth, I've learned, doesn't always look like progress. Sometimes it looks like stillness. Like finally stopping the fight against yourself. Like realizing you were never behind — you were always exactly where the work needed to happen.
We continue evolving. Always expanding.
And every morning, we wake up new.
What has life been working toward in you?
